Who is your ideal customer? Knowing exactly the customers you are looking for will help you to omit customers who are not for you. Figure out your target customer, then figure out where to find them. 

Are they on social media? Are they more likely to be on one platform over another? Where do they shop? What do their social circles look like? 

Knowing your target customer and where to find them will help you to direct your marketing directly to them. You won’t waste time and money marketing to people who wouldn’t be interested in your product or service. Instead, you’d be targeting your efforts to where they would be most profitable. 

You can also buy leads, which is an easy way to quickly generate a list of possible customers. 

Engage Directly With Potential Customers

This is one of the best ways to get customers. In the social media age, it is easy to talk to your customer base. Your business should be on at least one social platform. You should be engaging with people who might be interested in supporting you. 

You don’t have to try to sell to people on social media. The point is to be social. Use your social platforms to try to develop relationships with your potential customers. You will be able to convert those relationships to sales over time. 

Other ways of directly engaging with customers are through phone calls, email, or in-person events when possible. Your goal is for people to see you as a credible source or a friend. They will then share you with their friends, who are also potential customers. 

Offer Coupons or Other Incentives 

A great way of attracting customers is to offer people a deal of some kind. Tell them that there is a discount for first-time customers. Offer a buy-one-get-one-half-off promotion or another enticing sale. People love getting a discount. 

Be creative with your incentives. Is your product something that people continually need? Offer a discount for a subscription. Consider a raffle or a social media giveaway. 

Free samples are another incentive that people enjoy. Give away a sample of your product. Offer a free coaching or consultation session. Send out a free newsletter or ebook. Give a little to get a lot in return. 

Engagement for Business Leads

Customers must see you to know you exist and generating business leads with these tips can help. They might not immediately make a purchase, but you will be on their mind when they do need your product or service.
