If you want to retain the overall quality of your different products, then having excellent packaging plays an important role. It plays an important role where it is representing your brand in a completely beautiful manner for targeting the customers. This is the main reason that with the passage of time the packaging advancement is becoming the main talk of the town for so many industries.

If you want to test the overall quality of the product packaging with superior machinery and some standardized testing, then a different range of processes are used. Here we have a complete guide about it to let you know that how you should know about the quality of packaging:

Material Testing:

The process of material testing has been used to check the overall resistance inside the packaging material. This is all done to burst the entire durability of your paper. This might be a tough test but at the end of the day, it is also helpful to figure out the effective strength of the packaging. The concept of material testing is performed through the use of different types of basic cardboard. No matter whether you have been choosing to make display boxes, product boxes, or the cosmetic boxes, passing it through the material testing will ensure the durability.

Packaging Testing:

For the packaging testing, you can perform two common methods in which we have edge crush testing and drop testing. Let’s discuss the two of them in detail:

·        Edge Crush Test (ECT):

The reliable stacking and the shipment of the cartons have been so common when it comes to the factories or warehouses. Most of the time the factories might be having limited storage access in which the stacking of the custom boxes through the logo use can be a lot damaging for their brand image! This is a form of testing which is done to measure the overall resistance level of the packaging. It would let you know about the overall toughness of your cardboard packaging as compared to any machine direction. ECT is quite a meaningful testing that is performed in the whole world. It is so common for the packaging of cardboard boxes.

·        Drop Test:

In this form of testing, the packaging is completely made to hence freefall on top of the edges as well as surface or the corners. It is quite similar to perform like the shock testing which is carried out by means of pre-shipping inspection. It is quite easy to perform and highlight the main issue coming across in the packaging.

The packaging is completely dropped from the view of pre-defined height by using the machine. This will enable the manufacturing company to somehow estimate similar circumstances during the time of shipment or transportation. To get an accurate value, this testing is performed from different angles.

Storage &Transport Simulations:

This testing will be stimulating transportation all through the heavy use of vehicles in which we have aircraft or rail. Some of the most common tests which are part of this category are as mentioned below:

·        Vibration Testing:

This testing will be providing the basic information based on transportation stress through the product and its main packaging. Modern based vehicles will be driving smoothly at the time of transportation as compared to the rest of the vehicles which might produce certain vibrations.

This will bring some effect on the internal packaging as well as shipping cartons or closures. The series of additional bumping can even bring some effect on the overall quality of the packaging.

·        Box Compression Test (BCT):

This testing will be measuring the force in the kilonewtons which any package will be born through the range of compression. This test will be providing an accurate estimation of how much amount of load the packaging will be able to bear. This is carried out in any laboratory by the use of a basic machinery system of compression testing. This test can also be taken as much effective to get an idea that whether the packaging has been compressed or stacked in the minor spacing. In the testing of edge crush, the force is fully applied on top of the edges whereas when it comes to the compression testing of the box, the appropriate force is fully applied in a diagonal state in the opposite direction of the edges.
