When you are looking to study abroad, you have to go through a lot of processes. Finding and applying for the best course and universities is one of the mammoth tasks accompanied by another huge task of clearing immigration formalities. So a student who wishes to study abroad requires to process all the documents right from the transcript certificate to the visa application. The student has to submit his academic transcript, be it a GTU transcript or MU transcript. After that, he has to process his visa application.

WHAT IS A STUDENT VISA?

A visa is a stamp on your passport that allows you to legally enter a country and defines your purpose of visit to that country. Your purpose can be travelling, business, employment or studies. The student visa defines your purpose of travel as to study.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF STUDENT VISAS?

  1. Duration based – Most European countries have these types of visas. You get either a visa for up to 90 days for short term courses or a visa for more than 90 days for long term courses.
  2. Program based – In this type, the visa is given specifically for the program student wishes to pursue such as degree, diploma, certification course, etc.

WHEN TO APPLY FOR A STUDENT VISA?

It is recommended that as soon as you receive your acceptance letter, you apply for a student visa. As the visa application process can take 2-3 months, it is better to apply for the visa 4-5 months in advance before the commencement of the course.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR VISA APPLICATION

Depending upon the country you are applying for, the following documents may be required:

  1. Passport – you should have a valid passport and it is recommended that it doesn’t expire till completion of your course to avoid further issues.
  2. Financial statements – You need to prove you have sufficient funds to manage your expenses apart from tuition and accommodation fees.
  3. Proof of Bonafide student – you need to prove that you are a student in a particular institute and you can present your acceptance letter or request a certificate for admission from the institute.
  4. English test score

HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA?

There are two ways in which you can apply for a student visa. You can either apply online or through an offline method. In this digital era, the online method is preferred. You simply need to visit the official visa application website, create an account, fill in the necessary details, upload the required document and apply for the student visa. In the offline method, you will need to download the file and send the signed copy of the required documents. That’s it.

Hope you are clear about the student visa now. Before you can apply for a visa, you need a transcript certificate to confirm your admission. If you have any queries related to your GTU transcript, visa application or immigration documents, then comment below. There are many other reasons why someone would want to change careers such as a rude boss, heavy ego, not having proper skills for the job, finding better opportunities while working, etc. There could be ‘n’ number of reasons, but what matters is- ultimately it leads to loss of few important years in a person’s life. Some people find the right path early in their life, some find it very late and some, unluckily, never find the right path and have to live their whole life loving what they do.
