Especially, people who have sensitive skin and eyes are prone to suffer from allergies frequently. 

The most common reasons for the formation of eye allergies are airborne allergens such as mold, dust, pet dander and pollen. People who use lots of eye makeup daily may get allergies from the chemical reaction of cosmetic products.

If you wear contact lenses you should be very careful about keeping it clean. When you remove the contact lens from your eyes, it may get airborne allergens which can then get transferred to your eyes. So you must thoroughly clean your contact lense as per instructions or you can switch to disposable contacts. 

You can also discontinue using contact lenses if allergic reactions persist. Make sure you consult with your doctor as soon as you notice any noticeable changes in your eye. 

Use Eyewear For Protection

When going out, wearing sunglasses will help protect our eyes from airborne allergens. People who have light sensitivity issues can wear a photochromic glass to shield eyes from sun glare that may also cause eye discomfort.

Over The Counter Medicines

Many otc medications help in treating allergies that cause itching, redness and watery eyes. You may use eye drops or ointments that are labeled safe for ophthalmology purposes.
