Ph D in law is minimum of 3 years course and the applicants are given maximum 7 years from provisional admission to complete this degree. Students are required to work under the guidance of a mentor. They are given opportunities to produce research papers and more. The PhD in law tutors the law students in all the aspects of a professional world be it manager, research any. This is the prime reason why a PhD law finds his her value in varied domains such as judiciary, corporate, management, government, etc.

Ph.D Law Admission: Eligibility

Aspirants that have a master’s degree in law or humanities or social sciences are eligible to apply for Ph.D. in Law course. Students should have secured minimum aggregate marks or equivalent in their master’s degree or equivalent grade with minimum of three years managerial or professional experience. Some colleges admit students who have secured marks above 55% – 60% or equivalent.

PhD in Law Admission

(I) The Ph.D. programme is held twice a year.

(ii) The admission procedure is continuously accepted over the year likewise.

(iii) A short note on once practical experience (professional) is required.

(iv) Statement of Purpose: Candidates will be required to produce a statement of purpose which is piece of information stating their intentions towards the course and many other details in 1000-1500 words. This is a crucial aspect as it plays a substantial role in introducing your personality to the selection committee.

(v) Selection Procedure: The shortlisted candidates are required to appear for an entrance examination which is followed by interview procedure. Here are various ways following which applicants proceed with the procedure:-

  1. Qualification of: UGC/CSIR/ JRF NET etc
  2. Holders of Teacher Fellowships from a government funded agency.
  3. The application must be approved by School Doctoral Committee.
