Above All Else, Bring Value to The Table
YouTube is always changing. What works today may not work tomorrow. Okay, that is an exaggeration but not by much. It is a never-ending game. But it is for the good of all. YouTube’s mission is simple: provide quality content and a superb experience for the viewers. Viewers are their priority. Therefore, above anything else, focus on making quality content that is helpful, inspiring, entertaining, educational, or valuable in some way.
Use Your Specific Title Everywhere
Now that you have a title that has low competition, it is time to optimize your video. Before you upload your finished video file to YouTube, make sure to rename it to the same title you chose for your video. Same thing with your thumbnail image. Also, use the video title to describe what your video is about in the description box and use it in your tags as well. When you optimize your video this way, it will tell YouTube that your video is a perfect match for what the viewer is searching for. If you chose a topic that has low competition, it will rank on the first page.
Get Specific: The more specific your title is the less competition there will be. For example, when I searched for YouTube tools YouTube gave 1.5 million videos for that search term. In the early stages, your channel does not have enough authority in YouTube’s algorithm to help you outrank all these other videos.
YouTube SEO is Everything: YouTube SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. YouTube is a search engine, and your videos need to be optimized to get views and subscribers. When people use the search bar to look for specific content, your video MUST show up on the first page of the search results. If not, chances are no one will ever watch your video. Only a small amount of people goes past the first page of the search results to find what they are looking for. SEO is an extensive topic. It deserves its own post. Heck, it needs its own YouTube channel. And in fact, there are channels that are strictly dedicated to YouTube SEO.
