How to Setup Netgear DSL Modem Router Using Routerlogin.net

Need help to set up your Netgear DSL modem router? If yes, you have reached the right page. This how-to tutorial will walk you through the A-Z guide to install and configure your Netgear DSL modem router. Read on.

You can set up the Netgear DSL modem router using the default web user interface i.e. routerlogin.net. To access this smart wizard interface, you need an updated web browser and correct router login credentials.

Let’s first tell you how to log in to your Netgear DSL modem router.

Netgear Router Login Steps

  • Launch your preferred web browser on a PC or laptop.
  • Make sure that the web browser you use is updated to the latest version.
  • In the address field on the left-hand side, enter www.routerlogin.net.
  • Cross-check the entered web address and hit Enter.
  • You will be landed on the Netgear router login web page.
  • Input the username and password into the given fields.
  • Once done, hit Log In.

That’s how you can access the smart wizard of your Netgear DSL modem router to set it up. On the off chance if routerlogin.net not working for you, power-cycle your modem router and try again.

Steps to Configure Netgear DSL Modem Router

So, you know how to access the smart wizard of your router and start Router Setup. Now, you can get started with the Netgear DSL modem router configuration process for the internet connection using the smart wizard. Here are the essential steps to get the job done:

  1. Put your Netgear modem router on power. For this, plug the router into a wall outlet and turn it on.
  2. Now, connect your modem router to the phone line using a DSL microfilter.
  3. Connect your computer or laptop to a WiFi network.
  4. Open an internet browser.
  5. Access the Netgear router smart wizard by following the steps mentioned earlier on this page.
  6. In case the username and password is not working, reset the router to the default factory settings and try again.
  7. Once logged in successfully, click on the Smart Wizard section appearing in the top-left corner.
  8. Select the Yes button to detect the type of internet connection.
  9. Click on the Next button to proceed further.
  10. The Smart Wizard will show the connection type you are using and then display the relevant configuration page.
  11. In case the Smart Wizard detected PPPoE Login Account Setup, then you will be required to enter the PPPoE username and password.
  12. On the other hand, if the Wizard detected PPPoA Login Account Setup, enter the PPPoA login credentials.
  13. In the case of Dynamic IP Account Setup, simply click on the Apply button to set the dynamic IP for your Netgear modem router.
  14. On the off chance if the Wizard detected Fixed IP Account Setup, then enter the Account Name and Domain Name in the provided fields.
  15. Choose the Use IP over ATM or Use Static IP Address option as per your requirements.
  16. Now, enter the IP address of the Primary DNS Server.
  17. Save the settings by hitting on the Apply button.
  18. Click on the Test button to test your internet connection.

Once done, you can check if you are connected to the internet by heading over to the Maintenance > Router Status section. If not, chances are your Netgear router not working. In such a case, reboot your modem router first and then try again to configure it.
