Dr. Richard Bermudes is the founder of the group of 17 psychiatric clinics located throughout southern California. He stated last fall that he decided to change the name of the practice back to what it had been when the first clinic opened in 2004.
According to Dr. Bermudes, the company has redefined the typical psychiatric experience over the past few years and wanted its name to reflect that. When discussing changing just one of three words in the company’s name, he described how the word mindful is a better description of the clinics’ overall philosophy of patient care.

Mindful Health Solutions Successfully Launches New Location in Newport Beach
The headquarters for the group of clinics has always been in the Union Square area of San Francisco. In 2021, the group of mental health clinics opened its 16th location in Newport Beach, California at 4100 Newport Place Drive, Suite 370. The Newport Beach location has one nurse practitioner and four psychiatrists on staff.
Since the time of the announcement, the company has opened a 17th location in Elk Grove. The Elk Grove location has four psychiatrists on staff, including one who serves as the Regional Medical Director and one who serves as the Director of TMS Education. TMS is the former name of the business and stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Mindful Health Solutions is a nationwide leader in providing this non-invasive and drug-free treatment for persistent clinical depression.
To ensure it can meet its mission of bringing patient-centric psychiatric care to as many Californians as possible, Mindful Health Solutions has recently purchased a closed psychiatric clinic in Roseville and plans to develop more new locations over the next several years.
