If you are confused between conventional oven, steam oven, deck oven, combi oven and others, Let’s look at some of the common types of ovens to get some help on what type of oven you should add to your kitchen.

1.     Gas Oven

A gas oven, as explained by name, is a gas-powered oven. The burning gas is used in this oven to cook or heat food. As compared to electric ovens, gas ovens are cheaper to use because the gas can heat the oven very quickly. However, people with small spaces do not use these ovens for safety reasons. Buying gas ovens can cost you some extra money but will result in more savings down the line. People using gas ovens also say that gas ovens retain the moisture in the food and are best for roasting chicken and meats.

2.     Electric Oven

This type of oven uses electricity as the heat source. Buying and installing an electric oven is cheaper than the gas oven; however, running it can get expensive in the future. Electric ovens are common because of their convenience and easy operation. These ovens also provide dry heating that why perfect for roasting meat and chicken.

3.     Convection Oven

The electric ovens are further categorised into a convection oven and conduction oven. A convection oven has a fan inside it. It works without issue and is more convenient. In this oven, the heat is blown by fans and is ideal for baking as it circulates heat evenly. This oven is powerful enough to cook the food from all directions and in less time. The convection oven is more consistent than other types of ovens.

4.     Conventional Oven

This oven looks the same as a convection oven, and both can be gas or electric. The source of heat in a conventional oven is stationery and rises from the bottom. Conventional ovens come with different heat sources, such as built-in heat sources and no heat ones. The no heat source conventional oven must be placed on top of the stove. This type of conventional oven is reliable for not too good for roasting.

5.     Steam Oven

This type of oven became popular after people have started liking slow cooking. This oven has a water container in it. The boiler space heats the water and creates hot steam. The food is cooked on steam. This oven is ideal for vegetables, and it does not dry up the food. However, this oven is expensive.

6.     Traditional Oven

This type of oven seems similar to the brick ones you may see at pizza restaurants. These ovens are large and fuelled by wood. These ovens are not better for home but perfect for creating NewYork style pizza.

7.     Microwave Oven

This oven uses electromagnetic waves to cook food. The friction produced causes the food to heat up. Nowadays, microwaves are much common in every household. These are quick and energy-efficient. However, you cannot easily roast or brown everything.

From all these different types of ovens, you can select the one that is suitable for your kitchen and suits your requirements.
