During the Second World War in Germany polyurethanes were made, primarily for use in the use of coatings, elastomers and foams. The elastomers have excellent abrasion resistance, but have a high hysteresis; their use for applications such as tires is restricted by the resulting heat increase.

Due to their combination of low heat transfer and good cost efficiency, rigid polyurethane foam has become widely used as insulating materials.  Polyurethanes also called PU Tubing, among all the brands Festo Pu Tube Fittings are unique.

An upper temperature capacity of approximately 250 F is limited to use as insulation and other applications. In the sunlight or in contact with most organic solvents, polyurethanes do not survive very well.

Two forms are common: polyester-based and polyether-based, which actually include a significant proportion of the “polyurethane resin” in these backbone structures.

Polyurethane is a versatile synonym. The mechanical characteristics of the unique elastomer polyurethane can be manipulated and separated via polymer creativity making it easy to solve problems with high performance that is unmatched. This material has unlimited advantages and benefits.

Below are some of the polyurethane uses or benefits:

Filling the Gap Between Rubber and Plastic

Polyurethane is more expensive than rubber because it is harder than rubber but flexible than plastics. Their versatility accounts for their strength and their exceptional ability to withstand effects.

Abrasion Resistance

Pneumatic Fittings are the ideal choice for applications with low temperature and severe wear. They have been most widely used in environments for several decades due to their excellent abrasion resistance.

There is no better abrasion resistance in any other type of elastomers, metal and plastic than polyurethanes. Their resistance to abrasion is 10 times greater than that provided by other materials.

 Oil and Chemical Resistance

The properties of polyurethane materials are highly resistant to oil and chemicals just like their abrasion resistance. This ensures stability in water or oil etc. (with minimal swelling). Of products to be used in the underwater, polyurethanes should be the perfect choice.

Affordable manufacturing process

Many manufacturing processes like prototypes and once products or one-off parts using polyurethane are made.

Polyurethane Resilience

Robustness is typically a hardness element. Polyurethane is the perfect choice for shock resistant elastomer applications. They have a high vibration rate or excellent recovery potential. Their exceptional strength means that polyurethanes are extremely tough. Above you can learn more about polyurethane.
