Why Has Laptop Demand Spiked In 2020-21

Laptop and desktop computers seemed to have had their heyday in the 2010s. Almost everybody had at least one laptop or desktop PC in their home or at work. Yes, better and better models continue to come out, and laptop sales will continue to be steady for many years to come. The companies also focus on Laptop ac adapters for making sure their long-last working.

But the way the global demand for laptops jumped many times over in 2020 hasn’t been seen since the very first iPhone released way back in 2007. Of course, the current COVID-19 pandemic is largely responsible for this intense increase in demand for laptops and desktop PCs. But the reasons directly influencing this increased demand are often intricate and interconnected. Read on to find out more.

Most Employees Currently Work From Home

With most businesses, employees are provided with the tools they need to do their job. This almost always includes a laptop or at least a desktop PC. Computers serve as the hardware that allows employees to interface with the business and the systems they use in the course of their work. Of course, with the pandemic forcing workplaces to shut down, technologies like cloud computing now allow employees to work remotely and still keep operations going.

Of course, not every employee owns a fast and efficient laptop for remote working. The ones that own older and clunkier models are often faced with technical problems that impact their productivity. It only makes sense for remote workers to buy new laptops or even additional spare ones to keep managing their workload as well as possible.

Universities are Following an Online Learning Model

Businesses aren’t the only organizations shifting to remote models. Universities often have a high concentration of human interaction, which means they can be a very dangerous hotspot for infection spreads. The pandemic has forced most universities, schools, and other learning institutions to resort to an online learning format.

Using tools such as Google Classroom, and other learning information systems, educational institutes are managing to keep things flowing. But obviously, this means students and teachers need access to hardware like laptops and tablets to keep the process going. This has also contributed heavily to the increased demand for laptops, specifically for educational use.

Governments are Trying To Operate Essential Services Safely

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought entire economies to their knees. Businesses shut down, employment rates plummeted, and panic-induced buying frenzies consumed essential goods. However, governments in most countries do not have the luxury to simply shut down core services and walk away. Local governments still need to maintain law and order. State governments still need to debate economic reforms. And federal governments still need to deal with global diplomacy and crises.

Of course, even government officials aren’t immune to catching the coronavirus. That means, in the interests of safety and keeping important government roles functional, many government employees also have to work remotely, adding to the increased demand from students and business professionals.  Some Companies offer free replacement laptop battery While warranty.

The Need for Automation Has Grown

Automation isn’t a new idea. It has been around in modern manufacturing for several decades. However, modern advances in machine learning and intelligence have allowed businesses to automate non-manufacturing processes as well. The covid-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to reconsider their spending and find more efficient ways to keep businesses running during the crisis. Automation is an obvious solution, allowing businesses to automate many support processes and divert resources to more important ones that directly generate revenue.

But to automate various processes, businesses will usually need more hardware and software. Depending on the complexity of the process, you may need sensors, IoT devices, monitoring devices, specialized software, and many other components. But you will usually also need a regular PC like a laptop to help relevant employees interface with and oversee the automated system. Most business software is designed with a laptop or desktop PC in mind for primary use anyway. So businesses have been stocking up on laptops to deploy on automated processes and save themselves some money in the long run to offset the damage from COVID-19.
