Coloring your hair is really fun. You can always choose to colour your hair black, platinum blonde, red, brunette, burgundy, etc. Coloring your hair not only enhances your look but it also defines your personality. But do you think just coloring your hair ends your job? Well, it is not so. After coloring your hair, you need to take care of it even more. Wouldn’t you want the colour to last longer?

But your color will not last for a long time if you do not care for it. Colored hair is more prone to problems such as breakage, damage, hair fall or even dandruff. Here you will find some of the most useful tips to take care of your color-treated hair.

  1. Do not shampoo immediately after coloring your hair- It will be good for you to wait for at least seventy two hours before applying your favorite shampoo or even shampoo for dandruff and colored hair. While you color your hair, the hair cuticles tend to open to let the hair color penetrate within the hair shaft. If you wash your hair using a shampoo immediately after coloring your hair, you will wash away your hair color too. So, it is wise to wait while giving some time to the cuticles to close and then a shampoo after seventy-two hours. This way your hair color will last longer.
  2. Using a shampoo that is free from sulfates advisable- Sodium laureate sulfate is known to be an anionic detergent that is mainly used to make a lot of beauty products which includes shampoos and also conditioners. This agent that is present in the shampoos that you use is responsible for bringing the foaming effect. But when you use such a shampoo containing this ingredient may cause the hair to rip away all the natural oils and moisture. This, in fact, will strip off your hair colour too. Then perhaps you will have to spend money again for visiting the salon much more frequently so as get your hair colored all over again. So, you should make sure to use a shampoo that is free from sulfate in order to take care of your color treated hair. Some of the best shampoo for color treated hair are now available online too.
  3. Adding a bit of your hair color to the conditioner works well- Yes, it may sound weird but it definitely works. So, the next time you color your and after you shampoo it, add a bit of your hair dye to the conditioner that you normally use. It works really great to help the color to last for a longer time. You can add the dye directly to the bottle of the conditioner. It will help you to recolor your hair every time you use this conditioner.

So, it is extremely important to do the needful. After all, you have spent huge bucks to color the hair and having your hair fade within a month won’t be a good experience.
